New Mary Wighams in the Gallery and here is Christine's from France

Well, we are almost there with restructuring and it was my pleasure to update the gallery with last week's new works in progress. You can always look on the right hand side bar to visit the your work in progress - there is so much to admire! Or just for now you can click on Christine's lovely creation here. Christine Lopes is from France and says she is really enjoying the SAL with us all. Like her you are such brilliant designers. You can simply take the motifs from Mary Wigham's sampler and use them in all sorts of combinations and shades to create anything you want. I don't think you ever need to buy a new pattern again! If it wasn't for the fact that it is Japanese take-away tonight when I take out a few widgets on the side bar to make our blog accessible to our Japanese companions, I would have the music box playing our Mary Wigham Stitchalong song..........I have to say you really all are my favourite people.

  9. I am so inspired every day with all the beautiful choices in colors and combinations on Mary. I can't wait until I can have a go at her. Maybe August or Sept!!!! Then I will have seen so many I won't be able to make up my mind. This is such great fun to watch all the works in progress.

  10. That's a lovely palette Christine!

I am just amazed on how some stitchers are able to use the conventional embroidery hoops and are able to iron out the hoop marks afterwards. Care to share the secret? :)

  15. This is absolutely SPLENDID! I think Mary would be happy and surprised at how many variations have come about with her stitching.

And I wonder what the girls would think about their work, knowing that we have so much more available to us today...overdyes, etc.

  20. I have a question on the colors. I just pulled the 3 colors to see them in person. It is a brick color, a light tan and a bright orange? is this correct because it looks nothing like your photo. I pulled 740 738, 3777 is this correct?

  22. Breathtaking... Your choice of colors is superb. I have my linen, but cannot decide how to proceed. I understand that your choice of colors is personal :D Any chance of breakdown of how how you have divided the colors up? It looks like you have used three or four different colors, a red and two grey/greens. Thanks

  23. I found that those were incorrect also and was looking at the French Blog and she had said that the colors she used were: 3777,838 and 840. Pulled them and they are a match. Hope this helps you.

  25. Thank you Sammyjo, I have already started mine using the DMC it called for. I also bought the overdyed conversion floss, and pulled other colors as well. But my final pick is the original colors it calls for. I like them the best. But i want to use the 3 colors in Christine for anoher sampler i plan to do.
