Well & Done @ Hope & Elvis In Sherwood Forest

Louise Presley describes herself as an artist and professional treasure hunter. Her background is in fashion and and in 2003 she decided to follow her own star and set up Hope & Elvis - workshops for textile lovers. From the tranquil Harley Foundation studios situated in the grounds of Welbeck Abbey, North Nottinghamshire Louise curates a program of creative experiences with leading artists and contemporary makers.
Louise's studio is situated in grounds belonging to the Harley Foundation. Founded in 1977 by the late Ivy Duchess of Portland it funds the Harley Gallery and offers subsidised studios to artists, makers and restorers. Set in the northern most tip of the Sherwood Forest, an area know as the Dukeries, Welbeck is steeped in natural beauty and fascinating history, and makes an ideal weekend escape. There are a number of hotels, guest houses and B&Bs on the estate and surrounding area.
There is a stellar line-up of tutors for Hope & Elvis workshops including : Julie Arkell (whose work you can see here), Janet Bolton, Jessie Chorley, Samantha Bryan, Caroline Zoob and Mandy Patullo to name drop a few. For a list of current workshops, just click here. The short video below will give you a flavour of what it is like to join a workshop at Hope & Elvis.

  1. Thank you for the introduction to these workshops.

I was delighted to see that my friend Gretel Parker's needle felting workshop scheduled for October 11 and 12.

I'd encourage folks to sign up for this one...you will be in for a treat. Gretel's an artist, and you will definitely learn the art of needle felting.
