Say Hello to Mary Brooks at The Textile Society AGM 25-27 November 2011

Mary Brooks as you all know is an authority on early needlework history and is lead author of Needleprint's Micheál and Elizabeth Feller Needlework Collection. Now you can have the opportunity to see her and listen to her at the Sharing of Knowledge Conference to be held on 25-27 November 2011 at the Ashmolean Museum, Oxford, UK. There will be a weekend of inspiring lectures and tours and socialising in the city of dreaming spires. Friday sees a welcome address from the Ashmolean’s Catherine Whistler, and a keynote speech from Mary Schoeser. These will be followed by the conference dinner. On Saturday is a full day of talks covering collecting, connoisseurship, conservation and interpretation. In addition, Joan Kendall is speaking on the Four Seasons Tapestries at Hatfield House; Nikki Gordon Bowe on Irish Arts and Crafts Textiles; Jacqui Hyman on the conservation of Children’s Clothing from Mamluk Egypt; Anna Mason on interpreting William Morris; Brenda King on the Wardle Collection and Dinah Eastop on the Board of Trade Design Registers.
