Textile Treasures From Newly Reopened Rijksmuseum, The Netherlands
After a very long 10 years' closure ( 5 years over schedule), the world famous Rijksmuseum, beautifully refurbished, will be formally reopened to visitors again by Queen Beatrix. If The Netherlands is not a place you can easily reach, then you might enjoy some of their treasures on-line, like the little sewing cushion above.
And a few samplers - it looks as though more pictures will be added at a later date. Interesting that this sampler has been up-cycled into a sweet-bag or purse. For more details click here.
How does your museum put itself about in the mall? Like this?

Oh, thank you, Jacqueline, wow, ten years, I didn't realize it was that long. I am planning on going there in June and will keep my eyes open for the needlework.
