You ask about the best way to make the threadcards in The Ackworth School Memory Book. I know some of you don't like to cut things out of books, and it is a lovely book but those pretty 12 Ackworth School medallion thread organizers are printed on lovely card and are truly meant to be cut out and used! This is how: you can use sharp scissors but a good craft knife, metal edge and cutting mat are best. Cut the page out of the book - yes, do it now! Then cut the page into strips around the cards and then into squares around the organizers. Now you can get precise - lay your ruler along the long edges and cut there. Next cut along the undersides of the tabs - put the point of your knife at the junction of the side tab and inner edge and cut outwards - but not towards you - I feel faint at the sight of blood. Then cut out the short sides between the top and bottom tabs. You can round off the edges of the tabs with sharp scissors. Finally, wind some lovely thread around them, make a cup of tea and feel proud, very proud of yourself. You did it!
