SOLD 4 Quilt Books * £20 €50 $90 Shipping Included (Heavy)

The first book is in virtually new condition and is from a recent exhibition at the V&A in London. It is hardbacked and has 240 illustrated pages.
This volume explores the individual histories of the quilt makers
and provides valuable insight into their making - it is also a very beautiful book!
The additional three books are also in excellent condition
I was always struck by the similarity between Welsh Quilts and Amish Quilts and this set of 3 books in excellent order reflects that fascination.
Jen Jones has a stunning collection of Welsh Quilts and this beautifully illustrated as-new softback has 64 pages of quilts and history - it is an exceptional book.
Suzy's book has all the patterns and templates for 46 pieced Amish quilt projects
while Pat's and Sue's Book has all the quilting templates for you to use after the quilt is pieced.
Both these books are softback too - the first has 138 pages the second 44.

I do hope those of you who have bought Needleprint books have unfolded the jackets to find your bonus charted samplers. Each of these 3 books has delights in the jacket - and I have found about a dozen sets of spare jackets! The Feller Volume I has a beautiful band sampler stitched by Dorothy Ward in 1687.
The Feller Collection Volume 2 has 2 charted samplers in the jacket:
The first is Louisa Hochstetter's sampler
and the second is this beautiful anonymous 18th century Scottish sampler.
Lastly, The Goodhart Samplers has the Scottish band sampler shown to the right of the jacket shown below.

SOLD 3 French Magazines + Inspirations * £12 €35 $70 Shipping Included (Heavy Items)

The 4 magazines on offer are in mint condition and have been collected very carefully over many years.
the downside is that they are heavier than books for shipping!
However, they are rich resources for understanding stitching and stitching networks in other countries
as well as being delightful to read
Inspirations has some wonderful diagrams for taking you through a whole range of beautiful stitches in easy stages
and has a middle section (untouched and pristine) of pull-out charts.
De Fil en Aiguille is one of the premiere French stitching magazines which has a number of projects and articles on stitching themes.
There are also charts and patterns that are useful for any number of projects.
Of course, the other problem is that they are in French. Having said that, the upside is that they are probably the best needlework magazines in the world in term of their coverage and patterns. This magazine has a wonderful article on embroideries from Alsace.

Mulhouse is the famous home to DMC and famous printed cotton museum - below you can see an article on lace.

and the distinctive red and white straight stitch storytelling designs. All in all this is an Aladdin's cave of inspiration and patterns.
Ouvrages Broderie is another beautiful French magazine
which features a wider range of stitching projects than De Fil en Aiguille.
This magazine has a wonderful article on the Alsace Folk Museum in Strasbourg featuring their distinct costumes and embroideries and a rather nice sampler!
