St Agatha's Day * Patron Saint of Those With Breast Cancer * The Agatha Rug by Luke Irwin

Saint Agatha's memorial is on 5 February. Agatha was born at Catania, Sicily, and she was martyred circa 251CE. She is the patron saint of those who suffer from breast cancer, so today we can remember women and, let's not forget men who also suffer, people like us all around the world, people we may not know, or people who are dear friends or loved ones who are living with breast cancer - may they have remission, may they have hope, may they know they are loved.

In spite of its Scandinavian look this rug is hand knotted in Tibet. And because it is knotted to order it is available in any size or colour. The rugs can be woven in wool, silk, linen and cashmere. This is the sort of rug that would look probably more wonderful on a wall than underfoot. It is available from Luke Irwin. For more details click here.
