Dolly Good! Inspired by Jeanne Lanvin - Designing Hope

Alber Elbaz, creative director of Lanvin tells us: Dessine l'Espoir (Designing Hope) is a charity that helps women affected by HIV and AIDS in southern Africa. The charity taught a group of 20 HIV positive women in Swaziland to sew. The money they earn supports them and their families

At the same time the charity hopes to preserve artisanal skills - such as sewing. The reason dolls were chosen is because the founder of renowned design house Lanvin, Jeanne Lanvin, loved designing clothes for dolls. The dolls are €250 or £170 each and are available in London from Lanvin at 125 Mount Street. Loved by any young girl, these individually tailored dolls and their outfits bringing hope and some security to women in the most difficult circumstances are also serious collector items - museums please note!
