Embroideries From the Country Life Archives

Country Life is one of those permanent fixtures of British Life - you will find copies to peruse in the best cafés, in doctors and dental surgeries and sometimes in stacks in charity shops, going for a song. Date is unimportant - they are timeless. It is a weekly magazine dedicated to finer aspects of generally upper-class and rural life. For 115 years it has been recording - besides fiancée of the week, fine stables and manor houses for sale - interiors and antiques by superlative photographers. To search their archives is a fabulous wander through history.

You can search the archives on-line - or simply browse. Try embroidered or tapestry for your search words. To start looking for yourself - simply click here. To find out how to subscribe to the magazine click here.
