Lot 1231 is for auction at Tennants of Leyburn on 2 November and is, as you can see, a beautiful framed Ackworth School Medallion Sampler by Mary Grimshaw. Worked in 1805, Mary has cross stitched many of the decorative motifs unique to Ackworth of half medallions, swan, cornucopia of flowers etc. It measures 35cm by 46cm and has an estimate of £3,000 - £5,000.
