The first softback book of over 400 pages is in pristine condition. Everything you need to know about downstairs life that they don't tell you in Downton Abbey or Upstairs Downstairs is here in this book
This is indeed the hidden history of servants and their employers in late 18th century England.
The second book is a very good condition paperback of over 300 pages which puts manor life in 13th century
England under the spotlight.
It is based mainly on the household roll of Eleanor de Montfort, Countess of Leicester (and sister to Henry III) in the year 1265 and reveals the social organization and domestic life typical of medieval nobility - with some interesting discussion of cloths and clothes.
