Happiness is Visiting Museums Says LSE Economist Daniel Fujiwara

According to recent research carried out by Daniel Fujiwara, visiting museums has a positive impact on happiness and health. Participation in the arts and being audience to the arts also have positive effects on happiness - the wellbeing impact of participation in the arts is of the same magnitude as the effect of participation in sports. Putting an economic value to the derived benefits, Daniel produces the following estimates: for visiting museums - about £3,200 per year; for participating in the arts - about £1,500 per year; and for being audience to the arts - about £2,000 per year.
