Dove Cottage Cross-Stitch Kit Giveaway

I have recently returned from a delightful visit to the English Lakes, always a source of inspiration to me. It was snowing gently and the dusting of white on the fells added a wonderful graphic texture, rendering the hill sides like an etching in reverse. I particularly love the land around Grasmere with its homely, dumplinged, shaggy heights - the walk up the waterfall to Ennerdale Tarn then beyond, over the tops, leads you through a very special world.
This world was baptized picturesque by the new Romantics of the poet's, Wordsworth's, time. It was largely arediscovered world owing to the closure by war with France and Napoleon of continental Europe to those would-be British Grand Tourists. Instead, tours of the Lakes, areas of rough, natural beauty such as Wales, the Wye Valley and the marches around Church Stretton were hailed as journeys to the English Switzerland.
While on holiday, I found this vintage kit to cross-stitch Wordsworth's Dove Cottage that is now a museum and thought it might make a sweet giveaway. Everything is included. The fabric provided is Aida which you might like to switch for your own linen.

Simply click on the flying angel below to enter and I'll announce a winner next week, 15 April 2013. Bonne Chance!
