Hutchinson-Scott of Bedale North Yorkshire will beauctioning this sampler, Lot 240, on 13 April 2013. It is described as a good George III oval Needlework sampler by Christian Shittler and is dated May 21 1819. It is finely embroidered in coloured silks on linen with an entwined floral border, trees, flower tub and central perched bird motif to the top enclosing a verse titled To My ever Honoured Parents. It is a framed English Schoolgirl sampler worked by Harriot Hammond in the tenth year of her age and dated June the 5th 1811.
