After the dispersal last year of Betty Ring's sampler collection it is another sad occasion to see another go - this time the one assembled by Mary Jaene Edmonds.
One can argue that this is an opportunity for renewed stewardship and more people having the joy of ownership of these wonderful pieces.
On the other hand one might say that because of high current prices there will be a tendency towards increased mosaicisation making them less accessible and possibly as they pass through more hands in the future, lost from whence they had been gathered.
Here is just a small set of that wonderful collection for you to see now. But you can see the entire collection by clicking here - the lots start at 245 and also incude lot 324.
I won't describe these now, because you can create a printable catalogue which has far more detail than that provided by the auctioneers on their listing.
If you would like to download the printable catalogue of just these samplers already set for you, just click here.
