Candlemas - Stitched Candles Free Download

Today is Candlemas. It is sunny and the temperature is plummeting. If Candlemas Day be fair and bright Winter will have another fight. If Candlemas Day brings clouds and rain, Winter won't come again. So, you heard it here - something warm and glowy is called for. It is a time for lights and candles. The church has an ancient rite of blessing candles - a tradition which goes back to the 5th century. It is also the day the church celebrates the presentation of of the infant Jesus in the temple as depicted here by the Sweet Master himself, Stefan Lochner in 1447. My French friends tell me that tonight crepes will be eaten - but only after 8pm. You might like to try this at home tonight - if you can flip a crepe or pancake with a gold coin in your hand, then your family will be assured of prosperity throughout the coming year. Failing that, just concentrate on getting the crepe back in the pan and you'll be assured of a good feast tonight! If you missed the candles first time, here they are for Candlemas. Just click on the image for a larger chart for you to copy and use. Keep shining!
