Winners of Last Week's Giveaway - New Giveaway - Say Happy Birthday to Dorothy Bromiley Phelan

First of all my apologies - there were so many entries for the Ann Trump pins that I have yet to thank you all individually for your brilliant ideas for making the blog more interesting for everybody - I have made a start on some ideas and the rest I am already making plans for - so don't think your idea has been ignored. I hope to reply to everyone in the next week. The random draw came up with the following winners for the pins: Cristina from Portugal; Jane from Louisiana; Tricia from Virginia; Margaret from New York; and Jan from San Diego. Congratulations to you all.

Now for a very special giveaway for Needleprint Blog customers and Guilds. On Saturday next week, Needleprint author of The Goodhart Samplers and needlework historian, Dorothy Bromiley Phelan will be 80. I thought it would be lovely to celebrate her birthday by telling her how much her contribution to needlework history means to us. So, all you have to do is send me a message of thanks for her and we'll have them all printed out together nicely and sent to her in time for her special birthday.  Closing date is end of Thursday 16th September. Your message will also be put into a draw and the winner will receive a copy of Connecticut Needlework authored by Susan P. Schoelwer, former curator at the Connecticut Historical Society. This book subtitled: Women, Art, and Family, 1740-1840 looks at all the needle arts created in this 100 year period. There are more than 100 examples illustrated, some never seen before, and photographs include details of designs, stitches, reverse sides and sketches. This book is being published to coincide with an exhibition of needlework to be held at the Connecticut Historical Society in Autumn 2010. The book will be sent directly to the winner upon publication - expected mid October. Simply click here to leave your special message for Dorothy or leave a message on this post.
