Shelley Cox @ West Dean * Hand Embroidery - Crewelwork Techniques * 30 September - 4 October 2013

Learn traditional crewelwork embroidery while working a simple naturalistic motif of your own choice. All aspects of design and execution are covered from analysis of form, selection of colour and shades of embroidery wools, to preparing frames, mastering the stitching techniques and how to progress to larger projects.

Shelley graduated from The Apprenticeship scheme at the Royal School of Needlework in 1998 having received awards from both the Gold and Silver Wyre Drawers and the Clothworkers Livery companies. She then worked in the Studios at the RSN and taught until 2001 when she took the plunge to leave and become self employed. She has since taught for various guilds, private groups, and public classes both in the UK, France and the USA. She continues to teach regularly at the Royal School of Needlework for the Certificate and Diploma courses.
The course runs at the wonderful West Dean College (near Chichester, UK) from 30 September to 4 October 2013. The fee is £371 with 5% reduction for on-line bookings. Click here for more details and to book.
