Mrs Delany - Items On Sale From The British Museum

Some of you may recall the posts we had some time ago about Mrs Delany. Her marvellous works in embroidery and cut paper botanical illustrations were the subject of an exhibition in London some time ago. Mrs Delany was the twice-widowed Georgian gentle-woman, Mary Granville Pendarves Delany who lived a long life from 1700-1788. If you love her work as much as I do, then have a look-see in the British Museum online shop where there are a number of gift items based upon her works, now at much reduced prices. The shoulder bag above has been reduced from £17.99 to £9.99.
The pretty tea-towel above is reduced from £5.99 to £3.99.
This little tray is a bargain at £2.99 - formerly it was £10.99.

The pinny with the embroidered pocket is £5.99 instead of £15.99.

The tea cosy is £3.99 from £9.99.
And the matching oven gloves are now just £5.99 from £13.99. To see all these on the British Museum Shop site just click here. Below is a reminder of the fabulous book of her works.

  1. I read the book that is out about her. It was a wonderful and inspiring piece. As a 56 year old person who wants to reinvent her life into te creative lifestyle she has always dreamed of , Mrs. Delaney is an inspiration that we can. We are resilient and all things are possible. Cheers.
