Special 2 Night Stay at The Royal Surrey and Home a Few Stones Lighter - with Apologies

Posting the last blog was a bit of a pain - and the pain got so bad my husband called up an ambulance and I spent the night in the Emergency Room of the Royal Surrey Hospital. The following morning I was whisked away - or should I say, my gall bladder was whisked away with a quite a few stones. (And I always thought Gall Bladder was a ball game played by Asterix and Obelisk.) Anyway, Through the Keyhole took on a new meaning. Thanks to this incredible procedure, all the wonderful care I received at The Royal Surry and the indefatigable love of my husband, I am now home. It may take me a day to catch up. My apologies for missing a blog.

  1. Don't worry about the blog, take time to recover. Had the same procedure; while it seems like a simple procedure due to the new way they do it (small incisions), don't do anything too strainous too soon! Take time to let the incisions heal properly!
    Take care!

  19. Oooooh the pain is terrible, I've been through it! You have my greatest sympathy. At least you were able to get it dealt with quickly and hopefully are well on the way to recovery. Pamper yourself, relax and forget the blog for a day or two. Not that we won't miss you but your health must come first.

  24. I am sorry I missed this post! I hope you are well on the road to recovery Jaqueline!! I`m happy you could have the surgery the 'quick and easy' way (although no surgery is a picnic!)

I had my first gall bladder attack in March(i`m ashamed to say I yelled in the ER...a LOT! the doc asked how I felt about having my gall bladder out and I replied "10 minutes ago would have been good" )...and had it out in April (April Fools Day). They had planned on doing it with the small incision and when they got in there my gall bladder was such a mess they had to quickly switch to plan 'B', a full blown, big ugly-scar surgery. I was ill for 2 weeks after, and still have a lot of digestive 'after-effects'. Even with modern surgery, it`s not a procedure to make light of. Please take time to be good to yourself...the blog can wait. We will still be here!

    ((((hugs)))) mj
