This is a wonderful old photograph of a group of stitchers showing their work in a village near Freiberg, Germany on 28th April 1921. Just visible on the table in their midst is a placard which reads: Trennen ist unser Los, Weidernahen unsere Hoffnung. 88 years later this is a motto for our times: Separation is our lot, banding together our hope.
