Putting on the Old 18th Century Razzle Dazzle

Gentlemen's waistcoasts of the 18th century display some of the most incomparable needlework ever produced. I am an absolute sucker for them - even down to the handmade buttons and buttonholes. What makes this waistcoat auctioned at Bonham's, New York on 27th January special are the spangled flowers and applied diamantes down the front. In candlelight, can you imagine the irresistable irridescent, irradiant razzle-dazzle of that?
